SANTA’S RINGWOOD REINDEER PARADE
Christmas in Ringwood launches with a fabulous parade on Friday 4th December from 6pm. with late night shopping throughout the Market Place, High Street, Fridays Cross and Furlong Centre.
Santa will be rescued from Letchers Solicitors Building at 6pm by local Ringwood Firemen then the locally based Scottish Pipe Band will lead the parade through the streets, with Santa and his reindeer supported by Forest Forge Youth Theatre re-enacting their “Toys” production as well as Mary and Joseph , a steam engine towing a sparkling Christmas display float and the Fordingbridge Army Cadets.
A bustling food & craft market plus lively fairground in the Market Place are a great stage to start. Shops will be opening until late and encouraging visitors to get into the spirit of things with the offer of mulled wine and mince pies.
The parade will climax with Santa and his reindeer completing the parade in the Market Place, where visiting children will be introduced by Santa to his team of reindeer.
Forest FM radio station will be adding to the Christmas spirit reporting on the event and providing public announcements.
During the evening parade there will be a collection for “Help for Heroes” and the Furlong will be collecting for “Woofability” a guide dog training organisation.
The Christmas Parade on Friday 4th December launches the start of a series of events which include;
· Friday's Cross Christmas Fun and Frolics is on Friday December 18th
· Traditional Carol singing in the Market Place on Christmas Eve by Ringwood Rotary Club
The Ringwood Chamber of Commerce is supported by donations from local businesses including, Letchers Solicitors, Ringwood Brewery, Waitrose and Simply Beauty.
Marshalling will be provided by Ringwood Rotary, Fordingbridge Army Cadets as well as the staff of Letchers Solicitors and other public spirited people.
